SWAIA Newsletter February 2014

From the desk of the COO/Co-Director

Apps, apps, and more apps. Well, the deadline for the 2014 Santa Fe Indian Market applications has come and gone and it was crazy as usual. Our 4th year of online applications have set another record with over 550, almost 1/3 of all apps. Speaking of records, we set an all-time high of First Nation artist applications too. There is some amazing work being done by our brothers and sisters up north. The SWAIA staff is now organizing thousands of images as we prepare for the week-long jurying process. Artists can expect to hear from us by the beginning of March if they have been accepted or not. 2014 is going to be an amazing market. Thank you everybody.

From PR/Programming:

It's been an incredibly busy and exciting month for the PR/ Programming team. We've planned our stories, writers are being contacted and all is in place and on schedule to produce a fantastic 2014 Indian Market magazine. Thank you to everyone who submitted fellowship applications. What a fantastic response! Applications were strong and inspiring and we are looking forward to announcing this year's recipients in our next newsletter. Our team is working with the Santa Fe New Mexican on the Indian Market guide, planning programming for the year and creating a dynamic look and feel for Santa Fe Indian Market 2014. This Santa Fe Indian Market will be the most exciting and fantastic yet. We look forward to filling you in on all the details over the next few months. Please join us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up on all the news and upcoming events. Make sure to make your reservations for this year's market! You won't want to miss it!
