2011 Indian Market Poster Information

SWAIA is no longer accepting 2011 Poster Submissions

SWAIA is pleased to announce the call for entries for the 2011 Indian Market poster.

2011 will be Indian Market's 90th anniversary. To honor this landmark occasion and Indian Market's continuing vitality and presence YOUTH ART will be the subject of the 2011 poster. It is only fitting that the next generations of artists will mark Indian Market's legacy and herald its future.

SWAIA anticipates selecting three to five artists to be represented on the poster, publicity and on Indian Market merchandise. The competition is open to all youth, 15 years of age or under (born after 1996), whether they have participated in Indian Market or not. We are truly searching for the next generation and all art forms are welcome.

Please send four to five images of your work (digital images preferred) electronically to tailinh@swaia.org or bbernstein@swaia.org, or to SWAIA, Post Office Box 969, Santa Fe, NM 87504. Please send images only, no original art work. Your work must be received in the SWAIA offices by October 15, 2010.

A group of finalists will be selected from the entries and each finalist will be asked to submit work specifically proposed for the poster. Finalists will be encouraged to create new work specifically for the poster. The work is to have been created in the last year and still be in the possession of the artist or family.

The 2011 poster artists will be announced at the Winter Indian Market.

Please note: Artists who submit their work for consideration must be a member of a U.S. Federally recognized tribe.
