Director of External Affairs: Gabe Gomez

Gabe has an extensive background in marketing and public relations, and has worked primarily with arts organizations throughout his career. Gabe has taught English and creative writing at the University of New Orleans, Tulane University, the College of Santa Fe and the Institute of American Indian Arts. He holds a BA in creative writing from the College of Santa Fe and an MFA in creative writing from Saint Mary's College of California. His poetry, prose and essays have been published widely, and his first book of poems The Outer Bands won the Andres Montoya Poetry Prize from the University of Notre Dame Press. As a music journalist, his online column at santafe.com, Diminished Fifth, focuses on New Mexico Music and Culture. Gabe is the host of KBAC's Live at El Farol, a radio show that features live musical acts combined with interviews. In 2009, the City of Santa Fe awarded him with his own "day" for service to the Santa Fe Arts and Cultural Community.
