SWAIA relies upon contributions from our Members and Donors to fund Santa Fe Indian Market, public events, educational programs, business seminars for Native Artists, fellowships, and numerous outreach initiatives.

We would be pleased to speak with you about special projects, fellowships and program needs that require private funding.

Annual Fund Contributions
SWAIA annually raises over $1 million to put on Santa Fe Indian Market, the largest and most prestigious Native American art market in the world. Private funds support artist fellowships, educational workshops, youth mentoring and production of the Market itself. Your donations help sustain the legacy of many generations of artists allowing the Santa Fe Indian Market to continue its path toward 100 years of authenticity, excellence and cultural enrichment.

Artist Award Sponsorships
Indian Market artists represent the finest artists working in a variety of mediums that tribes from across the United States and Canada have to offer. From the earliest days of our event 93 years ago, SWAIA has sought to recognize those artists who excel at representing the culture and art of Native North America. This recognition is found in the SWAIA Best of Show fine art competition. SWAIA awards over $80,000 in award money every year in recognition of outstanding art. The contribution you offer is a gift that goes directly to the awarded artist.

Artist Assistance Fund
The Artists' Assistance Fund offers small grants to Native artists who need help with the travel and/or shipping costs associated with attending Indian Market. Many of our artists live in remote communities and the price of travel and lodging here in Santa Fe can be prohibitive. Your contribution would help us bring their art to the world.
