Anthony "Thosh" Collins Since 2009 photographer Anthony “Thosh” Collins has focused his lens on Indigenous communities from Canada, to his own doorstep on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community in Arizona. From the time he began attending the New School for the Arts High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, at age 15, Collins has honed his expertise in the varied disciplines of portrait, fashion and editorial photography. In recognition of his talent, he received a full scholarship to the San Francisco Art Institute which served as a springboard to launch his career as a professional freelance photographer. Whether shooting acclaimed native actors like Irene Bedard and Adam Beach or creating the latest lookbook for Beyond Buckskin, Collins uses stylized imagery and subtle wit to offer a fresh perspective on modern native culture as it’s seen from within. Sought after by up-and-coming native designers like Bethany Yellowtail and Sho Sho Esquiro and frequently showcased on Indian Country Today Media Network and the covers of Native Peoples Magazine, Collins has also gained recognition beyond the reaches of the native community. In 2012, the Courtyard Marriott in Scottsdale, Arizona, chose 29 pieces of his work to place on public display.
