Puye Cliff Dwellings
The Puye Cliff Dwellings are a National Historic Landmark and home to the ancestors of today's Santa Clara Pueblo people. Experience one of northern New Mexico's most awe-inspiring cultural attractions featuring early Pueblo architecture, cave dwellings and village ruins, an original Harvey House and a stunning panorama of the valley. Spend time with us, and be touched by the spirit of a special place between the earth and sky.
The Santa Clara Pueblo
The original Pueblo of Santa Clara was established sometime in the 1400s. With a population of 2,800, today's Santa Clara Pueblo - "Kha-'Po Owingeh" (Singing Water Village, also known as Village of Wild Roses) - was built around 1580. It has a base of 57,000 total acres with lands ranging from 5,500 feet above sea level in the Rio Grande Valley to nearly 11,000 feet in the Jemez Mountains. Today, Santa Clara Pueblo remains a vibrant representation of centuries of distinctive art, culture, language, tradition and hospitality. The village also maintains its own form of government that has been recognized by Spain, Mexico and the United States. Annual feast days with traditional dances are open to the public on San Antonio Day (June 13) and Santa Clara Feast Day (August 12).
Black Mesa Golf Club
Black Mesa is a high-desert links style layout that weaves its way around and over sandstone foothills on the Santa Clara Pueblo located thirty minutes north of Santa Fe. Designed by Baxter Spann, the course opened in 2003 to numerous accolades including "Best New Affordable Course" by Golf Digest and one of the" Top Ten Courses You Can Play" that debuted that year by GOLF Magazine. Since then, Black Mesa has been continually cited in the media for its challenging play for golfers of all skill levels, stunning panoramic views and exceptional value. The course has been rated in the various industry Top 100 lists since it opened. and was recently named one of the "Ten Most Spectacular Courses in the World" by LINKS Magazine.
