As a self taught artist, whose career spans over 50 years Yellowman is known as an award winning artist out of New Mexico. Yellowman is well versed in many mediums, but is well most known for his dynamic acrylics and intricate watercolors. His legacy in the art world has been his unique style and his children whom have been submerged in the Native art community. Ben Nelson (Ahn-Hia-Ohm/Thesonofpicasso) continues to innovate ledger style of painting and Malachi Tsoodle-Nelson is an actor and craftsman of metal, leather and beadwork. Malachi has represented SWAIA since the age of one in the Native American clothing contest. Ben Nelson the father of twins Cash and Presley and their sister Kennedy, Yellowman's grandchildren, carry on as young supporters of SWAIA through participating in the Native American clothing contest since their birth.
