My name is Marvin Slim. I’m a silversmith, and a member of the Navajo Nation. I grew up, and I still live in Albuquerque, NM. Silversmithing has been a way of life in my family. As a child, I watched my mother handcraft her silver into traditional Navajo style jewelry, which she often sold in Old Town Albuquerque.
Today, my jewelry style is bold, high polished, sterling silver with bright, colorful stones and seashells. I make a variety of silver jewelry like: bracelets, pendants, necklaces, bolo ties and my signature rings. My adjustable rings are what I am known for. The rings have a space in between two stones, that make it look like the ring is floating on your hand.
My family and I, will miss seeing our Indian Market family/friends this year. But we hope you all enjoy the virtual market. Thank you to all who visit, and support the arts.
