MATERIAL/TECHNIQUE:
I have been making baskets since I was 19 years old and collaborating with Stonehorse Goeman for twenty five years. I wanted to show the beauty of black ash baskets but also wanted to tell a story of our people ,the Haudenosaunee . Many of the baskets tell a story of our peoples strength , resilience and tradition while other times they tell a story of sorrow. Together Stonehorse a Seneca sculpture and myself an Onondaga basket maker created black ash baskets with sculpture , baskets with a story .
