MATERIAL/TECHNIQUE:
I carve cottonwood root kachina dolls in both a contemporary(detailed) and traditional style. I have been carving for over 35 years. I use hand tools, knives as well as power tools. I use natural mineral/ pigment paints and natural materials with my traditional style dolls. I use oil and acrylic paints as well as wood stains on my contemporary pieces.
