MATERIAL/TECHNIQUE:
I use various stone carving techniques on my sculpture. Generally, I use marble as my main material, however, I will use turquoise, shell, metal, and feathers. Occasionally, I will use a direct carving approach on single stone sculptures. But what I am known for is the use of various colored stones for laminations and assemblage. The lamination process includes the use of steel pins and stone epoxy to bond the stones together, which I will carve as one stone once the epoxy has cured. The assemblage method is similar to the lamination process, however, I carve the separate elements and components that makes up the design and concept of the sculpture. Assemblage figures typically are created to create scenarios or dioramas. All sculptures are mounted on granite bases for final presentation.
