MATERIAL/TECHNIQUE: I use antique original maps for my map art, It is my version of Ledger art. I use ink, colored pencils and watercolor on the maps depending on the structure and age of the map. Every drawing is freehanded and chosen to match the flow of the map. My paintings are in a similar style to Southeast Alaskan artwork. My fusion of styles and contemporary perspective emerges a new outlook, specifically for Southwest Alaska Natives in particular, and Indigenous Art as a whole. I tend to use bold and vibrant colors along with shapes based on the petroglyphs that bring pieces together.
