MATERIAL/TECHNIQUE:
I harvest and process black ash trees and Sweetgrass to weave baskets in the shapes of hats, masks, berries and any shape I can imagine, I will try. I plait my baskets and embellish them with black ash or woven metal such as copper or fine silver and weave in photos of my great grandmother and our family. All of my baskets and weavings start with traditional teachings that have been passed onto me by my elders and create contemporary weavings that reflect my voice and experiences today. My Sweetgrass basket weavings are done with a coiling method.
