MATERIAL/TECHNIQUE:
I use a mixture of traditional and digital drawing techniques to create my artwork. My pieces are sketched on paper and then scanned into my computer. I use a drawing tablet and Adobe Photoshop to render my pieces. They are then turned into giclée prints. I use traditional painting techniques in my artwork, such as underpainting and wet into wet mixing. I achieve a similar effect to glazing by using layer modes and opacity changes. When I use these modes on solid layers of color, I achieve a similar effect to colored filters. I also use clipping masks and found images to create digital collages and add texture. Before finishing a piece, I use adjustment layers to balance colors and light levels.
