MATERIAL/TECHNIQUE:
I am a third generation traditional potter. My mother was my first teacher. I was part of her own pottery production. As years passed, I was introduced and inspired by more contemporary work. Today I use both my traditional/contemporary procedures to produce my beautiful work. My pottery designs are hand painted on glassware using acrylic paint for glass. I bake the glassware in a conventional oven at 350 degrees for 90 minutes. Materials I use are Native clay and sand clay which are gathered and hand sifted on my home land. Natural paints, acrylic paints, and stone polish are used to paint. Native firing (outdoor) and kiln firing used. Sgraffito technique using exacto blades.
