MATERIAL/TECHNIQUE:
The art work that I create for the jewelry category is one of a kind “Tufa Casting” jewelry. The technique that I mainly use throughout my artist care is casting, hand fabrication, and Patina oxidation. The patina oxidation a technique, where I use liver of sulfur and water mixed and apply to the different highlight areas to give accents to the jewelry. Tufa Casting a technique where artist will hand carve a design into a volcanic ash stone. The tufa stone is naturally harden into a stone/block of material, which artist will pour molten material/metal into the carving. The tufa carvings are typically held by clamping two stones together.
