I am a Pueblo Wood Carver representing the Hopi artwork. My artwork consists of all hand-carved katsina dolls from Cottonwood root with the construction of hand tools such as Rasps, Files, and pocket knives. All natural pigments such as clay, sandstones, vegetable dyes, and rocks are used for the pigmentation of color on katsina carvings. To dress the dolls in completion, natural duck feathers, macaw, grouse, partridge, turkey, tanned leathers, horsehairs, and hand-spun cotton to finish and complete the katsina dolls.
