MATERIAL/TECHNIQUE:
I am a self taught potter that has been in the SFIM for 49 years. I harvest clay in the river bed and white sand in the back yard hills. I sift the clay and sand then mix with warm water to a workable consistency. Form shapes/plates. Sand pottery with fine sandpaper. Paint using white, red and black slit. Fire using cotton wood bark. I pass on my traditional pottery making skills to my son and grandkids to ensure our legacy lives on.
